The last weekend in March went MOTOPOINT INDI RACING TEAM with both drivers, Michal INDI Dokoupil and Veronika Hankocyova on the Slovakiaring for the first 2015’s testing. Weather looked quite promising, but temperatures didn´t rise above ten degrees, which definitely were not good conditions. In spite of it INDI got very quickly on the pace and steadily pulled into a very nice time on his Yamaha R6 Supersport. Veronika was testing her new Kawasaki ER6-F Supertwin for the first time this year.
Michal Indi Dokoupil #23:
“The most important thing for me was the moment to sit on the bike again after last year’s accident at Frohburg. I could not tell if my back or something else will hurt or even somehow limit me. Fortunately it didn´t happen, and I immediately started enjoying the ride, even though it was very cold. The main goals were to feel comfortable with the bike once again, try a new brake caliper Nissin, a new suit PSI from kangaroo and other minor changes on a motorcycle. When I drove a few quick laps at the end of the first day, everything I expected come true. The bike was perfect and I cannot wait to be on the start of the TT race!”
Veronika Hankocyová # 53:
“On my Kawasaki has changed a lot of things, the biggest one is new rear frame. Therefore, we experimented with height of frame, height and location of the footrest and the overall also with chassis and gears. At the Slovakiaring we were only once in the past and even on another track than this year. So we started everything from the beginning. In the evening we’ve got at least partially to where we wanted, and the bike started to behave according to my ideas, which started to be shown itself at my lap times. On Sunday, we wanted to continue this progress and I rode a few laps immediately with the time comparable to my Saturday´s best, although the temperature of the asphalt was less than eight degrees. Unfortunately, after the second out on the track I fell down at high speed in one of the left turns. It means the injury right at the start of the season which I have to struggle with and which will affect my plans, but that’s how it goes sometimes. I hope all my unluck for this year has been already chosen.”
Veronika suffered a fracture of the fourth finger of her right hand, now it is not sure whether she will be
able to attend the Jarní Cena Brna race, but she will probably not miss Irish race in Cookstown.
The important and a great news in recent weeks are INDI´s start numbers for TT 2015.
He will start with the number # 28 in Supersport TT and even with # 16 in Lightweight TT!
“It’s amazing! I know that my team believe in my success, but these numbers mean to me that even TT organizers believe in me and I really appreciate it. This year TT numbers are subject of many debates and many riders complain that they received high numbers, which is not my case. Last year I succeeded, and this is part of my reward. I hope that the second part of the reward will be even better result than last year! ”
Further testing and also the first race for MIRT is Jarní cena Brna in mid-April. See you there!
