The Frenchman rider #20 made again a clever & spetacular riding at the Circuit of the Americas (COTA) in Austin (USA). The championship leader balanced on a fine line between defending second place and chasing the race leader.

Starting from second position on the grid, Fabio Quartararo made a strong start and slotted into second place. The Frenchman rider #20 was leading the pack chasing Marc Marquez and he didn’t let the race leader out of his grasp.

Thanks to an excellent defensive riding, the number-20 rider managed to break away from third – Jorge Martin, allowing him to focus on his rhythm and maintain his gap. El Diablo speeded to the chequered flag to take second place, 4.679s from 1st.

With a 254 points total, Fabio Quartararo still leads the championship and now counts 52-point advantage to the second, Francesco Bagnaia. Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP is still in first place in the team standings with 349 points.

The next MotoGP round will take place at the World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Italy, from 22nd – 24th October, where Quartararo will have his first chance to be crowned 2021 World Champion.
