FABIO QUARTARARO WINS SECOND-CONSECUTIVE VICTORY AT PORTUGUESE GP

Fabio Quartararo made a heroic ride at the Grande Prémio de Portugal.

Once again, the young Frenchman delivered a masterclass in Portimao, making his second back-to-back victories. He realized a perfect weekend with a victory and pole position at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve.

The Frenchman rider #20 started from pole and slotted into sixth place after the usual shuffle of the order through the first corner. He soon latched on to the back of the leading group and relentlessly attacked it. With 17 laps to go, The number-20 rider skillfully took the lead and wins the GP of Portugal.

Fabio Quartararo now leads the championship standings with a 61 points total. Yamaha and the Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team still leads the world manufacturer championship.

The next MotoGP race will be held at the Circuito de Jerez – Ángel Nieto (Spain) from 30th April – 2nd May 2021.
