Fabio Quartararo bravely fought at the Grand Prix of the Americas.
Fabio Quartararo and Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP were in Austin (United States of America) for the fourth round of 2022 MotoGP season.
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP‘s Fabio Quartararo showed his tenacious fighting spirit during the Grand Prix of The Americas, battling like a gladiator. Starting from second start row, the Frenchman rider #20 had a strong start on the grid and gained a place as he stalked the leading group. Despite relentless fight, he lost a couple of positions in the opening laps and was eighth after lap 5.
With impressive Marc Marquez’s comeback, Quartararo shrewdly followed Marquez in the hopes of using him to get past other riders. Though the Spaniard put up a fight, the Frenchman was ready to take high risks and fight to the limit for every championship point. With two laps to go, Fabio Quartararo was putting Marquez under pressure and narrowly avoided clipping his rival when the latter had a moment in Turn 6. Fabio Quartararo finished in 7th position, 6.760s from first. After this fourth round, Fabio Quartararo now ranks fifth in the championship standings, with 44 points.
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will be back from 22nd to 24th April for the fifth round, the Grand Prix of Portugal, which will take place at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão.
