Fabio Quartararo extends his championship lead

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP’s Fabio Quartararo delivered fabulous race weekend, finishing second place at the Gran Premio de España, located in Jerez de la Fontera (Spain).Starting from second position on the starting grid, Fabio Quartararo made a strong start and held his position. After some laps, Pecco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo broke away fastly from the pack. Fabio managed to keep the pressure on, staying closely behind. The front men were the only riders able to dip under the 1’38s mark, clocking 1’37.6s times on lap 5.
The Frenchman rider #20 was on the limit every lap and was trying to make a move on the last lap. He was dangerously close, but in the end came just short of being able to put in an overtaking manoeuvre. El Diablo took the chequered flag in second place, 0.285s from first. With 7 points ahead over second rider, Fabio Quartararo confirms his lead in the championship standings with an 89 points total.
Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will be back from May 13th to May 15th for the seven round, the Grand Prix of France, which will take place at the Circuit Bugatti of Le Mans (France).
