MASTER FABIO AT PORTIMÃO!

Fabio Quartararo dominated the PortugueseGP and finished more than five seconds ahead of fellow Frenchman Johann Zarco. The win puts him in the joint lead of the championship standings.

Starting from second start row, Fabio Quartararo made a lightning start and followed it up with some brilliant lines in the opening corners to take second place. On the lap 4, he powered past the race leader and broke away from pursuing riders. The Frenchman rider #20 finished lonely the remainder of the race and also set a new best race lap of 1‘39.495s, showing its total determination. With an impressive 5.409s advantage over second place, Fabio Quartararo won its first victory of 2022 season. He now leads the MotoGP championship with 69 points.

Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP Team will be back from April 29th to May 1st for the sixth round, the Grand Prix of Jerez, which will take place at the Circuito de Jerez – Angel Nieto (Spain).
