Breaking barriers as woman rider with Emma BRISTOW (Sherco Racing Team)
Emma Bristow – EICMA 2023 Interview
Emma Bristow’s career in Motorsport includes a total of 44 GP wins, 9 World Trials titles and a further 2 World SuperEnduro titles, making her one of Britain’s top female athletes. In motorcycle racing, Emma Bristow stands out not just for her exceptional skills on the track but also for breaking barriers as a woman rider. As a pilot of the Sherco Racing Factory team (Trial GP – 300 ST FACTORY), key BS BATTERY partners, we had the privilege of asking her a few questions during EICMA 2023 in Milano.
Being a woman in the male-dominated world of motorcycle racing can be challenging at times, but Emma shares a positive and encouraging message with us. Her advice was clear and uplifting: “Just Do It! Because everybody wants you to do well, and you shouldn’t be afraid to get on a bike. It’s so cool, and you’ll love it!”
Emma’s words resonate not only with aspiring female riders but with anyone hesitant to pursue their passion. Her message is one of inclusivity and empowerment, emphasizing that the joy of riding knows no gender.
The interview concluded with valuable advice for those starting their journey in motorcycle racing. Emma shared her experience of initially worrying about judgment from others: “Yes, I think the first time I started competing, I was worried about people looking at me or laughing… You shouldn’t be worried about this; just do your thing because whatever you do, you’ll be good.”
We are proud to support Emma and power the Sherco Racing Factory; their impact reaches beyond the track, paving the way for others to follow. So, to all the aspiring riders out there, take a cue from Emma Bristow: Just Do It!
