GMT94 Yamaha began the back-to-school season in style, heading to Spain for private tests on the renowned Jerez de la Frontera circuit at the end of January. This intensive week of training and fine-tuning allowed the team to refine crucial details in preparation for the WorldSuperbike 2024 season.
And what a season for Yamaha GMT94 powered by BS BATTERY that is undergoing a fresh start with two new riders: Lucas MAHIAS and Philipp ÖTTL!
Philipp ÖTTL – Yamaha R1 – World SuperBike #5
In two seasons at the highest level of motorcycle sport with production machines, Philipp ÖTTL from Germany has achieved a 5th place in Australia, three 6th positions, and has entered the top 10 on 24 occasions. Following these remarkable performances aboard a private machine, the GMT94 team decides to enlist him for the 2024 season! He will now discover his Yamaha R1 powered by our unique lithium battery for the World Superbike Championship and take his first laps at Jerez followed by Portimao circuit in Portugal.
Lucas MAHIAS – Yamaha R6 – World SuperSport #94
Lucas joins GMT94 Yamaha for the 2024 Supersport World Championship season. The French rider, with 8 poles, 29 podiums, and 9 victories in the category, will carry the number 94 to propel his Yamaha R6 onto the podiums and aim for a third world title. Lucas will have a few weeks to fine-tune the settings of his Yamaha R6 powered by our BSLI-02 lithium battery before embarking on the new challenge!
